6 Psychological Reasons to Sell your Car and Buy a Bicycle
A Psychological Reason to Sell your Car and Buy a Bicycle
Here some interesting reasons to “Why you sold your car and
buy a bicycle”
1A. To
save money: To compute the cost of driving a car, a person
must account for the initial cost of buying the vehicle, car insurance, gas,
repairs, registration, and routine checkups. To compute the cost of riding a
bicycle, one must account for the initial purchase of the bike, the occasional
repair, and maybe a protein bar here and there. Opting for a bicycle over a car
easily saves thousands of dollars a year.
2A. To
get into shape: It really is a great workout. Bikes help a
person build endurance, get into shape, and become generally healthier. We
spend our days laying in bed, sitting at our cubicles, sitting on the couch,
and sitting in the car. Get a bike. Get off your butt. Get active.
3A. To
get outdoors: Working a 9 to 5 job means you probably work
inside all day. Then after work you’re tired, so you go home, and sit on the
couch. Getting a bike will give you outdoors time every day. Enjoy the sun, the
air, and the weather.
4A. To
meet new people: Fellow bicyclists are really friendly people,
and there are some really great cycling communities out there, just check your
local bike shop. Plus, for long trips where a biking isn’t feasible, Craigslist
rideshare is great for meeting friendly and awesome people.
5A. To
save the environment: I am no longer eating up fossil fuels with my
car, nor am I contributing fuel emissions to the ozone. When my bike no longer
functions, I won’t be left with a giant hunk of scrap metal such as with car.
6A. To
make myself happier: Getting out doors, getting exercise, and
staying active keeps me happy and smiling. Studies show a person who has a
one-hour drive to work needs to make forty percent more than a person who
bicycles to work to have an equal sense of well-being. Break out of your
boring, monotonous routine.
