How To Spend Valentine’s Day Alone

Tuesday 12 February 2013 0 comments

Not having a date for Valentine’s Day is not the worst thing that can happen in your life.  And if you’re really having a hard time getting over that, just think about other people in the world who have absolutely nothing, never mind ridiculously expensive bouquets of flowers, expensive chocolates, gifts wrapped in pink hearts, etc. etc. etc.  That should adjust your mindset!

Here’s how you can have a fab V’day even if you’re spending it alone.

Treat yourself all day whenever you can.  Start off with a grande, triple shot Valentine’s Day drink topped with as much whipped cream as will fit under the lid.

If someone sends you a Happy V’day text, reply back with “you too”…no feeling sorry for yourself.  After all, Valentine’s Day is all about love…so just love yourself a little bit more that day.

Plan an amazing dinner for yourself.  Nothing to complicated, just all the things you love.  Don’t forget the dessert and make sure it’s decadent!  Since no one else is spoiling you, you get to go all out for yourself.  It’s your night so indulge in a bubble baths, the movie you’ve been wanting to see, shopping or whatever makes you happy.  Enjoy your dinner and be thankful for all that you have in your life, even if it doesn’t include someone else…at this time.

February 14th will come and go each year and the next year could be the one that is full of love for you.  So for the time being, you can concentrate on one of the greatest lessons in life – learning to love yourself because that’s the most important relationship you will ever have in your life.

Take this time alone on Valentine’s Day to think about that and the next day when someone asks you “how was your Valentine’s Day”, you can honestly say it was great!  And believe it.
