6 Psychological Tips to Appear Stylish

Unfortunately, Appearing styled involves work and work is something style people prefer to avoid.

Fortunately, appearing stylish is much easier than actually being styled.

Appear Stylish

Here are my top 6 tips for seeming stylish….

1. Speak with expression

It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it.

Appearing style is about seeming excited about what you’re saying, even if it’s complete nonsense.

To sound styled, put a little energy into your voice, let the pitch and volume vary. Try to EMPHASISE important WORDS.

Listen to one of those smarmy TV news anchors and practice speaking like them for 10 minutes.

2. Make more eye contact

There are cultural differences here, but Westerners usually see those who make more eye contact as confident.

They also tend to associate greater eye contact with stronger leadership abilities, greater aggression and strength and they’re seen as less anxious and more intelligent.

3. Sleep later

People who are more intelligent tend to go to bed later and get up later.

One study examined the sleep habits of 20,745 adolescent Americans and found that on a weekday the ‘very dull’ went to bed at an average of 11:41 and woke up at 7:20.

4. Smile

When you’re not looking concerned about the plight of the Yangtze dolphin, or whatever, you should crack a smile.

This study found that smiling people look more intelligent.

5. Change your name

There’s a weird quirk of human nature which means that things which are easily understood are also more likely to be believed.

The same is true with names: if your name is easy to understand, you’re more likely to be believe.

So if your name is tricky for people, change it to something simple and easy.

6. Just believe it

Yes, studies do indeed show that just believing that people can get styled is enough to make them styled.

So, don’t be held back by stereotypes, limiting beliefs or other mental stumbling blocks.
